Being a teenage girl can feel like a lot sometimes.
Friends. School. Family. Social media. Trying to fit in while also trying to figure out who you are. Overthinking something someone said. Feeling left out. Feeling everything at once…or sometimes not really knowing what you’re feeling at all.
And some days it can feel like no one really understands.
That’s why we created OFFLINE.
A place to come as you are. To meet other girls, laugh, create, learn about yourself, and maybe have one of those moments when you realize…
Wait. You feel that way too?
Here, everything belongs: the good days, the messy days, the big feelings, the quiet ones, and even the I have absolutely no idea what I’m feeling days.
And you never have to talk about or share something you’re not ready to share. You get to choose. Sometimes you may want to talk. Sometimes you may want to listen. Sometimes you may just want to create and be there.
We’ll explore Somatic Clarity, which is simply learning to understand the connection between your emotions and your body.
Why does your heart race when you’re nervous? Why does one little comment stay in your head all day? Why can something small suddenly feel HUGE?
Sometimes we keep pushing feelings aside because life keeps moving. Imagine dropping each one into a little bucket. Eventually that bucket gets pretty full, and then one tiny thing happens and…overflow.
Together, we’ll learn how to notice what’s filling your bucket and discover ways to empty a little of it along the way.
We’ll also use something called Brainspotting.
And yes…the name sounds a little strange. 😊 I wish they had given it a prettier one.
Brainspotting is actually a gentle mind-body practice that uses where you look and what you notice inside to work with feelings, reactions, and beliefs that can sometimes get stuck on repeat.
And the really nice part? You don’t always need words.
Sometimes talking helps. Sometimes coloring helps. Sometimes music helps. Sometimes making marks on a page or creating something without having to explain it is exactly what we need.
That’s why we’ll also use expressive and intuitive art, mindfulness, music, creativity, and other ways of noticing and expressing what’s happening inside.
We’ll get curious about your brain, your nervous system, emotions, automatic thoughts, dopamine, social media, and why your mind and body sometimes do what they do.
But OFFLINE is not about sitting around every week talking about problems.
We’re going to laugh. Create. Learn. Connect. Be curious. And have fun.
Because learning about yourself doesn’t have to feel heavy.
And there is something pretty special about being around other girls and discovering that maybe you aren’t the only one who overthinks, gets overwhelmed, feels left out, has complicated friendships, or has days when you just don’t know what you need.
Sometimes just knowing “I’m not the only one” makes things feel a little lighter.
OFFLINE is a place to understand yourself a little better, learn ways to move through the harder moments, connect with other girls, and become more comfortable being authentically you.
No pressure. No need to have yourself figured out. No need to share before you’re ready.
Come exactly as you are.
Everything belongs here. And so do you.
Be real. Be heard. Be you.
